Door Seals

My 1980 FI California model is in pretty decent shape.....except when I close the doors.....the mechanisms are all correctly set, but instead of a new car clunk when the doors close it's pretty hard sounding.....hence, I close my doors softly.....any suggestions on where or how to get new seals for the doors and is it difficult to replace those seals?
thanks,
dmo

Without seals fitted there should be a gap between body and door. So no contact there.
Sounds more like incorrectly aligned door locks/latches and/or safety latches

Door Stop Bumpers are there.......all parts are there......when I first purchased it, the safety latch was missing, which was quite a challenge to replace....

You can get door seals from Macgregor's

I got a used one from Robsport as the drivers side had chunks missing. It was easy to change. Like Beans I don't see it being a cause.

Did they ever have a "new car clunk"?[:p]

Mine certainly has a distinctive clunk; or more like a very solid boom when you shut the door. But its a good sound. I'm always amazed at how solid it sounds for such a small car.
