Pop up lights

Postby Duplio7 » 23 Sep 2013 17:17

Hi Guys. Seems I need a new motor for the passenger light pod. I see there are 2 types, one with a square electrical socket plug, and one with a round electrical socket plug. Now this does not bother me, since a previous owner took it upon himself to cut them off, and replace each wire with it's own connector. What I'd like to know, is will either motor do me, for I would simply cut off the plug and give each wire a separate plug. So the question is, are the motors the same barring the type of connector plug, or am I going to have to work out which type of plug I need, type of motor?

Hi,

When I brought my FHC the gent included a couple of spare headlamp motors, they were the later plug type, I simply cut off and soldered the early plugs as nec and they work fine.

In fact once upon a time you could buy adaptor leads for using late motor on a early car.

Cheers John

So John, the motor is the same it's just the plugs which are different, and the motor will connect to the lifting gear?
