I was in the process of refitting the rear extension case on my 5speed gearbox. I found that the plastic speedo gear, which fits on the flats of the main shaft is an extremely tight fit. So tight that I need a hammer to drive it on. It worries me to put that much of a load on a plastic part. I am thinking of ordering a new one just in case it splits. Has anyone had this experience?
