Not sure about the size but that is the correct one for the TR7 and also for the Stag. I suppose you could attach a magnet, small enough to pass through the hole, to the drain plug. But it would have to be a strong enough magnet not to get displaced by the sloshing about of oil in the sump.
For less than a tenner might as well just buy one.
