Thanks everyone, fascinating stuff.

As a footnote and an aside, I got the history of the car (old logbooks etc) from the DVLA and discovered that its third owner was someone I had worked with for over ten years! Yet we never once discussed TRs and made the connection! Small world.

Hi,

Slightly of topic but ....

Will have to look on the original forum, many many years ago, we ran thread that by using a couple of web sites you could check to see, as far registration numbers go, if the cars were ' still alive ' and what they were I am sure some of you long term members may also remember this. For instance my FHC - OCH 696P I could see what OCH 697P ... OCH 695P and so on was and if it is still out there. Dealers get issued plates in batches so all mine were naturally BL car's. A way to kill a hour or so.
