If you are following the original route along the sill there are some fairly tight bends which may be a problem in plastic, mine has been copper for 22 years with no problems, but I have a lotus elan with plastic which is also fine after a similar time.

The one to be careful of is rubber particularly the braided type where you cannot see cracks forming under the braid.
