I am unsure of this myself but are the pinion and the gear which drives it a matched pair,or is the tolerance great enough to accomodate the different diameter/pitch or whatever it is that different teeth counts have.Just interested,Steve..

I think the 21 tooth pinion is the green one - don't have one but might help your search.

It would be the correct pinion for the 3.45 diff when used with a TR7 5 speed box fitted with the white 7 tooth output shaft worm gear.

Hi,

IF you have start to remove the back of the box then can be easier just to have your speedo re-calibrated, that's what I done, over twenty years ago now when I fitted a 3.08:1 CWP and been fine, should get it done again really what with the 2.84:1 living back there.

Used these gents -

yes the 21 tooth pinion is green and it should mesh with the existing gear.i should have mentioned it is a 5 speed box and I thought this would be the easiest way because its quite a simple job to remove the pinion. But hey guys thanks for the input. Lyle

I can confirm the green gear meshes fine with the original gear in the box, changed mine 20 odd years ago still looked fine when swapped to a new box a couple of months ago.
