Okay,I agree for £10,000 whatever you buy would have to be of the highest quality or a real rarity. Where I disagree with you is the value between the FHC and DHC, and modified cars being worth more than an original unmolested car. Although I agree this was once the case, it is most certainly not anymore. The gap between the FHC and DHC has closed massively over the last couple of years and now share equal parity. And most TR7/8 enthusiasts are now restoring or seeking out, or even returning there modified cars back to original. I have seen some very early original coupes changing hands for very big money in private deals between fellow enthusiasts recently, amounts that would of been unthinkable even a couple of years ago. There will always be a place for a modified car in the wedge world, but it will never, in my opinion, be worth more, or more interesting than an original car.
