distributor wiring

Postby sonscar » 25 Jun 2014 10:15

The white/black wire that connects to the points at the distributor has in the past corroded and became too short to reterminate.A new wire has been run from the coil on the inner wing to the distributor and runs fine, however whilst refixing the coil lead with the engine running touching this wire to the block caused the motor to cut out.It is still connected in the loom somewhere,Does anyone know where before I start disturbing things needlessly?.Disconnecting it from the coil stops the tach so it must be tee'd somewhere. Thanks Steve..

Off topic but, tee'd sounds like you might be BT?

Grovelled about looking for this wire and found a connector in the passenger footwell, disconnected the white/black from the connector, turned on ignition and;no oil pressure light.Refitted this wire back and had another look. The offending wire is white/grey,disconnected this and job is a good'un.Steve..
