Hi all, slightly stressful journey back from the UK with my car. What with accidents on the M20 and delayed eurotunnel train resulting in an after midnight arrival at BnB and nearly a a lost rear wheel on the autoroute! which caused a heart stopping rear end shimmy or 2! See if I can post a photo here.Image

Nice car.

I'll bet you have bought a proper wheel brace for the car.

I once had a tyre shop leave the nuts on one wheel finger tight. Gave me a hell of a fright when it got down to one nut. I always check them myself now if anyone has had the wheels off.

Accidents & delays on the M20, surely not!! I have the pleasure of queuing up on that road virtually every day. [8D]

Unnatural horse dentist! it's marketing. The last few years has seen the rise of "Natural Horsemanship" as a big movement, also riding without Shoes and without bits. The current methods taught in Horse dentistry revolves around Electric tools which often require sedation of the horse, I use hand tools and rarely require a vet to turn up to sedate.
hence Natural.

Probably should have done a new topic for this. I have to change a rear shock and the spring cups are perished. So a bit of advice or recommendations please.

I live in rural france and the roads can be very smooth and flowing and great fun but many are poor due to poor construction but traffic densities are very low so they get patched up a lot rather than rebuilt.

I therefore don't want to lose the ride quality but noticed on roundabouts more roll than I like. I thought that if I have the back end in bits I would make some simple changes. Would new standard springs and new standard shocks with an uprated anti roll bar work? I realise that front will need to match. Or could I get a similar effect with polybushing certain elements?

Any thoughts please as I am open minded.

I live in rural Australia, & incidentally, my horse dentist uses only hand tools.

Many of our roads are similar to yours, bituminised potholes, & wavy due to insufficient foundation & subsidence caused by heavily loaded trucks.

I have an 8, with all suspension much heavier than standard. On smooth roads it is very quick, not so good on the less smooth.

I have a 7. the springs have been retempered to standard height & spring rate, so equivalent to you fitting new ones. The shocks are a little stiffer but not much.

However the anti roll bars are 30% heavier than standard. I had them custom made, but I believe some UK specialists offer heavy anti roll bars.

This made an amazing difference, more than I expected, even though I have racing experience with the importance of roll bars.

This car has less cornering power than the 8, on smooth roads, but leaves it for dead in the wavy/bumpy stuff, with more comfort as well.

Worth a look at roll bars, if you want a good poor road car. I have yet to find anything better.
