Engine pictures

Postby Graham.Fountain » 29 Sep 2013 11:53

Does anyone have any pictures of the Triumph slant four engine?
I'm looking for pics for the Wikipedia article on the engine, which only had a pic of the engine in a Saab 99, but I've added one of an 1850 dolomite, and am considering adding pics of a doly sprint and a TR7 and sprint, and maybe a Panther rio.

What would be really nice would be a picture of one of the cut-away engines that are around. I've definitively seen one of the Sprint engine, I think at Gaydon.

The thing is, to be uploaded onto wikimedia commons, the picture needs to be copyright free, so it needs to be a picture you took yourself and, if you want me to upload it (else you'd need an account on wikimedia) you need to write something like this on the post:

"I waive all rights to the work worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights, to the extent allowed by law."

Graham, S+S had a cutaway 8 valve engine, it was there the last time I visited. I also saw one at Gaydon but that was a few years ago.

Thanks Chris and Russ, I'll ring Rick tomorrow viz the S&S photo, I assume it'll be ok despite the S&S logo.

Russ, is there anything written on the inside or outside back cover about rights, etc.? Seems odd that it has no copyright statment, as I understand that means it's not covered at all under US law. Hope it's not covered, as it's an ideal source.

Graham, the engine is actually at S+S,so you could take photos of it from all angles. I think they actually did the cutaway themselves.

We did indeed do it ourselves Chris. In fact we did two, the one in the pic is the one we did for the TR Register.

We also have a cutaway LT77 gearbox.

Graham, there are no publication numbers or copyright information anywhere in the booklet that I can find. Its an aide-memoir intended to for those who attended the training course so I guess they didn't think it was necessary? The whole booklet is on that MyDrive link so you can see it all and download too and check if you like.
