Strut Brace

Too many people duplicate work that others already have done ... if you're having something remade then tell us about it! Success and Disasters, they are all useful to know about!

Strut Brace

Postby Henry » 11 Jul 2016 20:23

I have contacted Glen Oliver about the possible manufacture of a small batch of strut braces to the design shown (for a V8 with Holly type carb) in the attached photo.
Glen makes these on a jig, they can be made to suit most engine/carb variants.
They are made from stainless steel so not only do they aid in the rigidity of the front suspension they also look good.
A budget cost will be provided when we have some idea of quantities, please respond here if you are interested.

I am interested in what you had to do to the air scoop to make it fit behind the 14 inch air cleaner. Doesn't look like a lot of clearance on my car. I also am running a 14 inch air cleaner.

Would be interested in one for a standard 2 litre (with double bulge bonnet) but I guess the cross beam would be an entirely different shape. supercass

Thanks to all those that have responded, especially John 215 for his additional photo. I plan to let this stand for about a week to give folks chance to see what is offered and to gather all the questions for Glen to respond to.

Hi Henry
Glad to see you contacted Glen as John says he is a top bloke and if you do buy one of his strut braces I can assure you, you will be impressed with the quality and accuracy.
I have tried to put some photos of mine on here but I can't seem to succeed :(
Cheers

I would like one for a 4-cilinder car . It would be nice if it can be removed, without loosening the struts.
Cheers,
