Postby trphil » 09 Jun 2009 08:14

I'm sure a lot of you remember Top Trumps, as TR Juniors coordinator for the TR Drivers Club I'm trying to piece together a Top Trumps set of cards for the youngsters (and not so young) to play with at our National Weekend.

This is an appeal for your help, I have drawn up the list below and would appreciate some help filling in the gaps!

Or indeed corrections, I'm not proud.

Also if anyone has a nice picture of any of the vehicles mentioned that you don't mind me using could you post in this thread so that I can grab it!

Additionally I'd like to include some modified cars so if you have something interesting and you have figures for all the columns. How about the Le Mans car Bert? [;)]

Ultimately I need 30 different cars (although I could always do more than one set!) so I may rationalise on some of the models in my list (especially US spec TR7s).

Thanks in advance for any help.

You could always slip the rally cars in for something a bit special. Don't forget the TRS from 1960/61.

Hi John, I'd quite like to include your car as its running webers and nicely tuned too. Do you have the figures that I need? I already have a good picture (Your car features in my guess the TR game).

TriumphTune TR7:
140 BHP @ 5300RPM (at flywheel)
127 lb ft torque @ 4350RPM

Let me know if you need anything else. The BHP figure should be nearer 150 but I've put a lower estimate in as I've never actually had it measured at the flywheel - it's been measured at 118.3 at the wheels but this always varies depending on atmospheric conditions and other things (such as tyre pressures) on the day.

Does it weigh the same as the standard car?

Thanks for your help.

That depends, it could be a draw after all it's still only got 8 cylinders! Also there are bigger V8s out there, isn't it only a 3.5 litre?

Top speed should be unchanged but I expect it's gone up a few MPH.

0-60mph is approx. 6.5 seconds.

It weighs the same as a normal 4 speed car which I believe are quite a bit lighter than a 5 speed owing to the lighter gearbox and axle.
