Indicator flashy unit flashy failure and oil query

Postby rfairbairn » 02 Jun 2009 14:32

Well, not always. But (strangely) it seems to be mostly the left side thats failing. I've ordered a new unit from rimmerbros and hope that the relay is the problem. Do you think its likely to be the case?

Also, I knew my TR7 leaked oil when I bought it and now its time to top up. However, I bought the only oil they had at my service station and its not 20/50. Its something like 5/? or 10/?. Can I use it.

Best wishes to all on the forum.

The lights on the cars are protected by 4 fuses, one for each side and one for each headlight. I would start by checking the fuses for good connection, Then check the bulbs for good connection.

If you are just topping it up until your next oil change, it probably won't hurt anything. I would change the oil and filter as soon as possible. Then change it on a regular interval.

Hi,
I plan to get the oil and filter changed in about another 200 - 500 miles. Would it be okay to top up with 10/40w in the meantime?

best wishes

Thanks a lot. I'll get the change done after I've paid the taxman in July.
