Was there ever a 'sports car' that looked better in wheels that appeared as though they were borrowed from an International Scout in minature?

I think my blue '71 Javelin would have looked just fine.


with white spokers (general idea with this).

These wheels must have been one of those 70's things that looked good at the time.

I vaguely remember the UK having something similar, maybe Weller wheels which enabled kids to fit wider aftermarket wheels to their cars. Made from steel and painted white to keep the cost down. They were on loads of Minis.

I quite like those wheels, unfortunately for Triumph the ones they used were dodgy and it became a recall problem.
