Hi, my Grandad used to own this car until the late 90's when he sadly passed away. He spent many many happy hours tinkering with it, and I'd love to hear how the car's getting on, if anyone know's that would be great!

Hi Mark

This from DVLA Vehicle Enquiry web-site:

Date of Liability 01 10 1993 [When last tax ran out...]
Date of First Registration 27 01 1977
Year of Manufacture 1977
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1998CC
Fuel Type Petrol
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour RED

It looks as if it's no longer around. Sorry!

Or its sat in a field / barn somehwere but most likely has since been broken or scrapped. Although he must have had it of the road in the late 90's if its tax ran out in 93.

Aw that sucks! Thanks so much for the replies everyone, very kind.
It was definatley taxed after '93 (or should have been! I'm sure it would have been) as he used it on the roads, it might have only had 6 months tax at a time bought or something as he used to spend half the year out of the country, maybe that's why. I was hoping to find it was much loved and well kept on here.
What a pity [:(]

I checked with my Nan, the date of last tax is infact right, he bought it in '91 (approx) and got 2 years road use out of it. After that he spent 6 months a year out in Spain, so it didn't get turned over at all for half the year, never mind driven!
I guess its probably been used as a donor car for other restoration projects.
Great cars everyone btw!

Mark...

How about re-living the dream?
There are lots of cars still out there to
choose from, they're not expensive, they're
a lot more fun than a Clio [IMHO] and there's
a good spares availability from several very
helpful TR specialists.

Where are you based?
