<font color="blue">Recently I have had a little bit of welding done to the passenger foot well and now find I need a little bit done to the driver’s side too. With these foot wells, I have rubbed them down, rust treated them and gave them a good coat of por-15 to stop any surface rust from coming back. So with this going so well I have had a thought, why stop here and why not treat the whole of the inside of the car floor and back to protect it and then I can do the underside with pro-15 and know she is protected. Most of the inside of my car apart from the seats and dash are out at the moment for other work.

My question here is has anyone done this before and how easy is it to take the seats out whilst I do this painting?</font id="blue">

well, how far do you want to go?

Seat are easy to take out, just 4 bolts into the floor. Then it is easy to remove the vinyl plate behind the seats and the armrest support. then you can go further with removing the vinyl side plates. by then you have the entire backside of the interrior out.

That is cool. I think I will have to do one side at a time starting with the passenger side as I just told my wife and she say, 'can we not get it on the road first as you have had it on the drive now for five years'. Lol think one side at a time might be best here for piece.

Hang in there Phil! Mine hasn't seen the road either since I got it 5 years ago (I have been working hard on breaking the car down and completing it in assemblies and sub assemblies) and I may get the car out my folks garage next week and bring it to our new house. If you paint over the POR, use the POR tie coat primer as I have found some paints have a hard time adhering to it when just sprayed on. Good luck! Lol Rblackadar at least I am not the only person that has never drove my car in the last 5 years. it is not so much me, but my wife saying it is time that my 7 was on the road.

Cheers for that, I hope to be taking out the seats Sunday. Just waiting on the paint to arrive, fingers crossed it will be tomorrow in the post. If not I am stuffed lol.

I finally got my big pot of por 15, so if it not raining this weekend the seat are going to come out and she will be painted.

black hammerite will be gracing my floor and interior, same as you will be passenger side out first and wirebrushed, rust treated and then painted, can always pretend we're going for the stripped out racer look while its being done.... hey theres a thought.... tubbed rear chequer plate ally door panels........[:p]
