I am going to take my car with me to Australia and it needs the engine fan fixing. I have decided not to go for the ‘fix the viscous’ option as I have done this once before and it is still playing up, so I was going to go down the electric fan route. I was just about to order it and then I wondered if this would be good enough to keep my car cool when driving in Australia?

Planning on being in Perth to start with, but will all depend upon work and where the jobs are.

Plenty of cars over here run electric fans as standard!

Have one on my TR but it does have a bloody great big radiator on it though.

When I had the 4cyl I ran both I got the car like that PO had put the fan in never had any trouble with it.

Fit the biggest fan that the space will allow. If the thermostat in the engine and the stat on the fan are working properly the engine can't be overcooled. The stats just operate to suit.

I seem to remember reading that some parts of the world were supplied with "export radiators" on their 7's. These had a greater concentration of fins per inch. I don't know if this is true for Australia.

I think i may put the electric on and keep the viscus bits just incase I decide to go for the both rinning option.
