How to tighten the ball joint?

Hey all,
I'm trying to put in one of the front struts and cannot get the the ball joint tightened correctly. When I turn the nut, the shaft of the ball joint turns with it and there's no thread sticking out of the top to get a grip on with vicegrips or a similar tool (not that I would do that since it would ruin the threads). There's not enough room to get an impact wrench in there to spin it up real fast, so, I'm pretty much stuck using a box end wrench. Ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Aaron

Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

Hi,
Stick a jack underneath the ball jiont and jack up slightly or centre dot the taper of the jiont this will then allow it to grip slightly so you can do the nut up.
Cheers John
