I'm hoping to get my car inspected and legal by the end of the week and I need some tires. Currently, it has some P205/60-R13's on it that are racing tires. I like the way they fill up the wheelwells but they are very old and not designed for street (wet) driving. I'm having a problem finding this size locally (St. Louis). What size are you running and do you have any ideas?

13-inchers are going the way of the dinosaur, which is why many folks are going to larger wheels. I have 14" rims, but tiremakers are producing fewer of those as well!

Check online with Tire Rack - www.tirerack.com . Probably one of the better sources left.

Standard tyre size was 175/70 13 on very early cars and 185/70 13 on later cars.

I'm running 195/55 15s now and the speedometer is 100% accurate from 30mph to 70mph so presumably I have corrected it by accident. Standard rolling radius is 588mm and I'm running 596mm.

We have the same situation this side of the pond.

The choice of 13" tyres is very limited now. I used to run 185x70HR13 Goodyear NCT's which were a vast improvement over the original Uniroyal G800S or Pirelli CN36's.

Now I'm running on 195x60VR14's but I'm sure the choice will be limited when they wear out in a year or two. Both of our everyday cars (hot hatchbacks) run 15" wheels

i'm also running 205-60-r13 BFGoodrich on mine (purchased about 4 years ago) when there was still a choice of tires in this size...the aforementioned BFG's,Dunlops,Summioto(sp?), and I think even Khumo's.
Some of the larger tires stores/chains should still be able to get their hands on the standard 185-70-r13'S.


Since you're from the U.S.,as was mentioned above, I'd also suggest the www.tirerack.com they should be able to steer you right, and shipping is never much of a problem with them....

Tirerack offers 2 choices, a summer-only tire and a racing tire. Tires-easy.com offers more but I've never heard of them before. Has anyone here dealt with them?
Locally, nothing is available. One shop offered the Sumitomo's from tirerack, but I really need an all-season tire. I also really don't want to switch wheels as I find the 13" ones on the car right now to be good looking.

Great sevice, i had them delivered to me and fitted them at work or you arrange on line to visit a suitable tyre fitting place close to you. At the moment you also get an extra 5% discount through Classics Monthly Magazine.

I will be getting 185 60 15s, & 205 60 15s Falcon fitted to the 8
today. Don't know much about them, but they are recomended by my
favourite tyre place, as the best they can do in those sizes now.
All the good stuff I have used is no longer available.

I have Pirelli P400 185 70 13s & Bridgestone 205 70 13s on the 7.
they were fitted nearly a year ago, & both were the last of either
in Brisbane. My bloke had to get them from other dealers to help me out.

I was thinking I would have to fit 15 inch wheels to the 7, when I
needed tyres again, but it now looks like there'll be nothing good
in 15s by then.

Next time I'll have to fit some beaut quality Korean things. Still,
when you think about it, it's probably more authentic. The latest
Korean tyres are probably better than what ever the cars came with,
from Triumph, back then.

Makes you wonder about the value of uprated brakes, if you can only
get down rated tyres, to try to stop the thing.

Gang, a Google search turned up Toyo, Cooper & Yokohama as being available in 205-60 13.There are still a few black donuts for the Wedges. However, it looks as if 15s or 16s are in our future!![8][8]

Don't use force, get a bigger hammer!!

In 2006 I got 5 of 185/70 13 Kumho's from local OK Tire store, their "house brand". They were inexpensive and I'm totally happy with them.

A whopping 225/50ZR 15 on the Grinnall but they can tend to tramline on bad roads...

And a mere 195/50 and 205/50/15 on the FHC now they do seem the bizz good ride road handling etc

205/60/14 Yokahamas here. But I heard they are also being discontinued. Had it to do today, I'd go with a 15" rim. 13s and 14s are getting phased out. At least in performance rubber.
