Some good "press" at last.

The March April edition of my favourite magazine arived this week.
It's Restored Cars Australia, & anyone in Oz, or NZ is mad if they
don't get it.
It does not follow the popular blueprint for classic car articals,
where you can just insert the make, model, & the name of the
restorer, & you have a new story.
This months [2 months actually] mag, although only a slim 70 pages,
has more reading, & more interest than any 3 other such mags. Eg, an
article on traction engines, one on tractors, & another on the
Goodwood Revival, but others include a 67 Pontiac, a 59 Ford
Skyliner convertible, Graham Bros trucks, Chryslers in Oz, & one on
the TR7.
The TR7 story covers 4 pages, & is all detail, & photos, not an
owner in sight. Not only that, it's all positive. Eg, "Sales in Oz
were somewhat disappointing due in all probability to poor marketing
of the cars many virtues not being told to the public, for instance
their ability on dirt tracks & Z category roads was quite something,
& better by far than our own home grown popular sedan
cars". "Every 'bushie' should have purchased one for general hack
work".
And later, "The cars structure was a unitary all-steel pressing
assemblage. It featured MacPherson strut front suspension, with a
coil sprung rear non-independent suspension, which well &
truely 'trounced' their rivals in the ride quality, & handling
stakes, inspite of its quite short wheelbase".
Later they mention that the TR7 was a relatively brisk car for the
era, with the Oz version giving 0 to 60 MPH time of 9.1 sec,
compared to the Fiat X1/9, at 12.7, & the Datsun 260Z at 10.1.
Anyone who can get a copy will be sure to enjoy this artical, & a
beaut add for 7s, & will probably enjoy the mag for the other stuff.
