TR7 SEAT COVER INSTALL

CAN ANYONE OFFER ANY ADVICE ON INSTALLING SEAT BOTTOMS ON A TR7 ? ARE THE CLIPS THAT HOD THE FABRIC IN PLACE REUSABLE? THANKS JAY

Jay,

The clip are re-useable, just depends if they are rusty. The best way is to tap them on the lip gentle with a flat screw driver, using a small hammer working from one side to the other.

Not sure if it's available your side of the pond but Classics Monthly has an article on rebuilding a TR7 seat this month.

Yes they are re-usable and the prev. advice all hold good, best to fit a new diaphragm though (unless yours is in really good cond.) as this is the bit that supports your botty[:0] and takes some punishment over the years and of course being rubber it does slowly fail![;)]

Mine looked like this before I replaced it. The difference was a much firmer seat (a good omprovement) but I'm used to it now. Recommended. Takes the help of cord and wife to hook up clips as the diaphram has some resistence to stretch.
