Postby Adam Parr » 09 Jan 2009 01:18

Hey Everyone,
Im Adam, im 19 and this is my 79' TR7
Image
Not really that was just a photoshoped image [:D] but i do plan for it to be somewhat like that when compleated (preparing self for riceburner comments)

anyway this is what it currently looks like,
Image
Image
shes not quite road worthy yet, (just a few minor things like new carpets, mirrors .etc)

my goal is to leave the standard 2L 4banger motor in the car, but squeeze every last Hp out of it!

Anyway this was just a self introduction

Welcome aboard Adam. Your photoshop talents are prodigous. I like the spoiler. Is that going become real at some point? That would be a mould worth keeping.

Can I suggest you tone down the signature. Some of us are too old to cope with those Canadian ballerinas.

Peter

Thankyou Peter, I would like the car to become like this at some point but for the time being i just want it road worthy, iv owned the car for nearly 2 years and it has only just arived home last month.

i re-uploaded the photos so you should beable to see them now.

thankyou for you comment on the photoshoping, i did a diploma in animation at tafe and photoshop was an element of the course. i hated it when i first started using it, now its the only thing i use.

im reading in your sig that upholstery is on your todo list, where are planning on taking yours (are you in Australia?)

Upholstery is one of the cheaper things you can have done to your car so I paid someone to do it for me. I had the seat cushions rebuilt & recovered for a few hundy & I'm useless at sewing anyway. It was one of the first things I did so even when the paint looked like crap I was nice & comfy inside.

I'm in Wellington, NZ. Not yet a state of Australia. [^]

You should be able to get plenty of good info on tuning the 2L here. In the meantime keep it on the road & let us know when you are going to sell the rims. [:)]

Thanks guys,
@peter
I got ripped off really badly with my uphostery, the guy quoted me for leather,
gave me a sample of leather
did the car in VINAL [:(!]
and did a S**t job on it! (its already starting to peel back)

In NZ we have the Small Claims Tribunal for that kind of piracy. Next time get written quotes & they will think twice before ripping you off. I've used my upholsterer several times over 15 years so my experience has only been good. I knew it was the right place cos there was a '60s vintage Ford in the boss's car park.

Adam,

Welcome to the Forum! It looks nice but why reinvent the wheel as Tim has a great one you can start with.

I don't know, smiles have pretty good company!

Now on a more serious note. We welcome all Tr7/8 owners and we encourage younger owners like yourself. Many of us have young families and therefore there are some younger viewers here. I applaud your creativity and your PhotoShop expertise, however we try to police ourselves with the language we use and photos we post. I have to agree with Silver_7 here as I, too, feel that your signature is unfitting to the decorum we are trying to keep here. With your abilities, I am sure you can generate a great car related signature photo Montage!

Jclay, cars should have frowns not smiles! [:)]

What does the back of that car look like.

And I think you mean 'montage' as in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cnNfxkf-IQ

Hi Adam,

Good to see another Young'un on here. Im 24 and have both a 2 litre Grinnall and a 4 litre V8 Grinnall with mega flared arches and sills. Nowt wrong with modding cars in my view and as for signatures, if they are TR related they can never be too big!!! [:D]

P.S I look after the TR Register's Yoof Group on Facebook that might be of interest. Search TR Yoof on facebook groups and join up to chat with other young Triumph enthusiasts.

This is the best forum for wedgey advice though [:)]
