<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font size="2">Ebay find. Personally I'd rather have stone chips in my paintwork than put one of these on my car, but "to each his own" someone here may want a gimp mask for their car http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Triumph-TR7-TR8- ... dZViewItem

Had one of these many years ago, they're rubbish. They cause more damage by rubbing against the paintwork than they save from stone chips. Plus they look really silly.

I have one from my TR7. It looks brand new. You can have it for $50 (+shipping) :).

Hi,

They aren't advisable for wet weather either. Water finds its way between the bodywork and the vinyl, a bit like a wetsuit, which takes ages to dry out and promotes corrosion. Add some road dirt and a bit of vibration and say goodbye to your shiny paintwork.

They were several MX5's (Miatta's) wearing these things in Phoenix Arizona a few years ago when I was there. But it's like a desert out there compared to the UK.

Cheers,

Adam

Car Bra! You wouldn't want to make yourself look like a tit so why would you want to do it to your car.

You can get them for any slope nosed car. They are to stop stone chips but they do more harm than good. For those car people that don't know any better.

Actually, my wife's old Rav4 (1996) had one of those. It was very small (covering only 6" of the hood, so the plastic bumper remained open). The quality of Toyota OEM accesory was amazing: it fit well, was attractive and kept the front of the car free of stone chips during winter months (I would remove it between April and November).

Having said that, I would never put it on my TR7 [;)]

I'd been telling my hubby about these "bras" for years. I used to love em on cars (lots in Calif)but have never seen one here (probably cuz they'd get stolen & burned...)but glad you've said about the drawbbacks as I quite fancy them.
