help again i am starting to refit fuel injection 4 years since removing i have questions please any answers pictures please

first

looking at plenum from intake side, left hand side there appears to be a bracket welded on the end with 3 holes what goes on here i dont have any recollection



also apart from the centre bar from inlet manifold what holds it in position i have no details from the underside and manuals dont detail anything. i am guessing ther should be a support of some kind. ive looked through my box of bit i so carefully put away !!!! im sure when told or shown everthing will make sense in the world again .....

If I am looking at the right diagram in my parts book, there is a bracket plate part number TKC5871 that bolts to the 3 holes , & onto this bracket is attached the throttle linkage, solenoid jack & inhibitor switch assembly.

Does that make any sense?

Tony is right, the throttle bracket fits on that end. I don't have the throttle/solenoid jack installed as it wasn't connected or working anyway, with no ill effect. Mind you I don't have my A/C working (for show only - no refrigerant), I think the jack was to prevent a snap deceleration when the A/C was on.

The plenum is held in position by a support in front and in rear that go down to the engine block.

Incidently as you can see the engine was not pristine as it is now but the oil was caused by oil pump seal and rust from battery that leaked/exploded some time in the past.

Not neccessary to remove engine/transmission to clean up your engine bay. Don't forget to bolt your extra air valve to the intake manifold before installing air plenum as it's nigh impossible after it's on.

thanks guys all makes sense, those brackets i had put with my dash assembly gear, the throttle body jack is ringing bells better get searching.

Not good as they are very similar to the under dash supports. You can probably tell them apart as the under dash supports should be in much better shape than the under bonnet ones.

i cant find a throttle jack in my parts so back to the red tr7 repair operation manual. page 339 it states

"the throttle jack is fitted to vehicles with both air cnditioning and automatic transmission "

so like yours it was never fitted.
