Nice wheels on some nice wheels.

Is that mirror attached to the quarter light?

The front wheels are 14 X 6 and weigh less than 9 pounds each. They have 45mm offset. I made my own front hubs with the 4 X 100 bolt pattern. Before then, I used wheel adapters.

The rear wheels are 15 X 7 and weigh about 12 pounds. I put the rear wheels on a milling machine and drilled a second bolt pattern in them so that they would bolt up to the rear axle. With 40mm offset I am able to use the 225/50 wide tires with no rubbing issues at all.

The front wheels were from a Miata special edition. The rear wheels are from a BMW E30. There were other cars which have the same, or very simular BBS wheels. But most of the other examples have a 5 bolt pattern or not very much offset. Some of the other cars which use these wheels have a different color, such as gold or black.

Another reason that I decided to use these particular wheel style is that you cannot really see thru them. Almost all other super light weight wheels would allow you to easily see that there are drum brakes on the rear.

When you can find these on ebay they are not super expensive. There is a demand for BBS wheels, but due to the "small size", they are resonable.

Yes the side view mirror is attached to the glass. I made a plastic pad in the shape of the mirror base. The mirror base is screwed to the pad. On the bottom of the pad is VHB(very high bond) exterior grade double sided foam tape. Not only does it look good but you can actually see with it(on the drivers side).

Those look cool. If you wouldn't have mentioned the 2 different cars they were sourced from, I wouldn't have noticed the slightly different design each has. Nice looking car!

Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

One potential problem with these wheels is that the hub caps are specific part numbers and can cost $50 each. They are available though. But I am able to hide the second stud pattern under the hub cap.

And you have to carry two spares!
Nice car - but i think it looks odd with the smaller wheels on front, would be better with 15" all round surely ?
