CONVERTIBLE T-STRIP QUESTION

Hi all, just had my front bumper, off today to refurbish my bumper bar etc, not that there was only 2 nut and bolts holding the black plastic T strip on, there are 6 holes and thought maybe all i needed was 4 more nut and bolts but having looked on the Rimmers website, it says on there that plastic rivits are whats used ,does it makes any diff which are used? or is the black rivits cosmetically better to look at than silver boly heads.

Many thanks all

Just took a look at mine. If you are talking about the two pieces over the bumper, mine are held on with bolts, but they go thru a black plastic washer that has a little flip cap on it that closes on top to hid the top of the bolt.Image

Well that plastic rivets are original mounted but you shall destroy them with removing a second time.

Hi Henk, yeah you are right, mine didnt even have any rivits, it was held on by 2 but and screws at the front, and at the sides the cruise lights held the sides on, ive boug ht a set of screw& nuts, along with some hinged cover caps that should equally do hte trick.

Drop heads in US had the plastic rivets. Use a punch to push out the center pins then remove the rivets. Find the pins on the ground and you can reuse the rivets.

I bought a packet of the black plastic rivets at Auto Zone for $2.99 (8 per package) and they look great. You'll have to imagine it though, got no pic to post.
