Gaz, Every time I see a ride that you folks on the other side of the pond have rescued from the tinworm and what you have to endure to be able to drive your TRs and other classics you continue to earn my admiration and respect. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!
Living in the California desert certainly has its benefits. What is a tinworm???????? HA! Very nice work.

Hey Gaz,I am so glad you posted a link to those pics...the one where the wing/fender is completely off on the side,I have to ask-how did you do it? It seems that, along with the small, rectangular piece beneath the wing, that to reattach it would require some odd welding, for sure! My 1975 has a bit of a crumpled wing on that same side, and I have the replacement one,but I wasn't sure if there is a trick or tip to reattaching it (I am having someone else do the work). I removed the replacement one with an angle grinder from a junked car myself,so apart from being careful with the part I needed,I pretty much tore into the rest of the car removing it. Any advice you can give would be great, thanks!

Thats scary rust. Very nice work on the bodywork!!
I have yet to really get in there and look over my latest purchase, a 1979 TR7. But Im thinkin its going to have the same issues yours did. I dont know if I want to handle that much body repair, so I might opt to find a 1980 and use 1979 for parts. We shall see.
Nice job tho. [:)]

there were a couple of options if my bulkhead had been rotten then it would have been a lot more expensive ie chopping out about the height of the heater matrix pipes and and replacing it from a donor car windscreen and all scary but doable as suggested and i wouldn't have let anyone local do a job like that by S&S but luckly for me it wasn't any worse than you can see on the pics so it was a case of cutting out the bad and replacing with new and as i can gather a lot of templates were to be made
the guy who did loves working on older cars and happens to have mine at his garage at the moment along with a mk1 escort with a Zetech engine and twin 45s very nice
i could have gone so much further with it but were do you stop its now strong solid and the rots gone it'll never be concourse but it'll always be a 7........
any way so i cant help you too much but heres a link to a couple of threads ....as it were work in progress
