Whats it called?

Postby paul w » 23 Sep 2008 19:44

O.K. time to 'fess up. You all know my 4.6 is better known as the
'Green Monster',childish i know,but i have a mental age of six!
But,whaddaya call yours? Some are open about this -
Greg's Colonel Bogey,on account of its hue, ngtf(Gary)better known as
'Eyore' due to its no.plate,etc.Some give 'em macho names, others will
have nick names (Rust bucket etc.) and some will have named 'em after
a wife or husband etc.- A bloke at work calls his Caterpillar D8 bulldozer
Betsy, after his missus coz she is as graceful as it!!
So,lads'n'lasses, time to own up - whats it called? (no rude names-
apart from Moe's 'the dogs 8o110x')-

Image
Godzilla came over to see how his little buddy is doin'-
Image
- yeah,i named it after him,told ya i is stoopid !
('Zilla was impressed-he said "MMRRRAAAAOOOORRRRRRR"!!!)

See ya. Paul

My other car is a Vauxhall Astra Coupe (02) 1.8ltr.
One of Luton's finest, made in Germany.
I called it "Buck Rogers" because it has leather seats and a CD player. [:)] It's a song by the band Feeder, in case anybody didn't know.
Anyway, what's that coming over the hill, is it a monster?
Another song, one for the "young" people.

1979 TR7V8 FHC 3.9 Litre.
280bhp and 13.31 secs standing quarter.
19 years of tinkering and tuning......So far!

Is this a "sister" car?
Very close to your licenceplate.

Mine's "The Fabulous Trashwagon"
Had one of Bert Levy's stickers and since the car had been rearended and resurected, I decided to wear his sticker below the license plate. I mean it was seriously TRASHED!! Not braging but people that see the sticker in the cars present condition get a bit confused. [;)]

I call my TR7 "Tres" as she is the third vehicle in the yard. She is affectionately known as "the Umph" at work. My license plate reads TRY UMPH. "Bea" short for Behemoth is the Land Rover's name. (I know 2 British vehicles in the family. [^])

But the previous owner called it ‘Bob’ I know this because the folders with

All the documentation in it had paperwork for Bob on it

And he also told me… [:D] </b> </font id="purple">

Mine being inca yellow is known as 'the wasp'.
My youngest daughter called it a taxi when it first arrived, due to the colour.

I can't repeat what my wife calls it, especially as we just moved house and it was about as much use as her glove box. I couldn't even take both the kids to free up space in her car!!!!

Funny, mine's just known as "The TR" by just about everyone around. Although my brother used to call it "The Fireball" owing to the flames billowing out of the engine bay many years ago.

My TR7 is called Foster. This is because her first owner was a Dr.

My daughter named the TR6, much to husbands annoyance she called it Rosie Barbie (Rosie because its red and she loved barbie at the time!!) unfortunately the name stuck hehe

My "normal" car is a silver clio dubbed "Little Gerard Way" because Im a bit of a manic My Chemical Romance fan and its numberplace ends in LGW.

Our PT Cruiser is called Katy Zoo because the original plate read KT XOU

Previously I had a Morris Minor called Blossom, no idea where that one came from and a Bright Yellow metro affectionately dubbed "Bertie the Banana Butty" because its reg read BUTY
