Its a restoration project but would seem it's a rare Grinnall 2+2.
Anyone willing to save it?

I'm new to the TR7 game and am wondering, what is a Grinnall 2+2? Does it refer to the flared fenders / "body kit"?

Mark,Grinnall is noted for big arches and body styling, tho'not every
wedge he touched had them.2+2 refers to the seating arrangement-2 seats
behind the forward ones, not full size, maybe enough room for children to
sit.
See ya. Paul

There were several different hardtops put out for TR7/8s, and that is the best one.
Often called the "German" hardtop on this site because of an advertisement in German that has been posted several times.
In my opinion it has the best lines by far of all the other hardtops out there.
Someone needs to pick up that car for several reasons.

Hi,
This ended up on the V8 forum under a different thread. Here's my bit again...
That could make an interesting project...
It doesn't jump out immediately as a Grinnal to me. The sill extensions could be the wrong profile, the seams between the front / deck panels and their respective wings don't look like they've been welded up and filled either. I can't make out the manifolds, he preferred (SD1) or the fan (viscous coupling) and the interior trim isn't in grey wilton either (his favoured option). So probably not.
I almost bought a Grinnal 2+2 many years ago when my son was about 2 years old. The hood frame had been modified to suit and the hood became totally secured by poppers all round. It was rolled up and placed in the boot, which had less interior space. I do like the hard top on this one though. Judging by the photo, you have to take it off to fill the car up....
Cheers,
Adam

A common problem with hardtops is that they hang over the filler cap. You can (just) get the cap off to fill up on my car when the hardtop is on (mine is a Lenham) and this looks just the same !
