Grinnall taillights (SD1)

Is their anyone on the forum that might have pictures of the Grinnall taillight conversion? looking for closeup and detail pictures.

I have the tail light assemblies and the SD1 sheetmetal. I'm thinking of converting to the look of the grinnall rear lights. I have the basic idea of what to do, just would like to see how grinnall did it or how S&S prep does it.

Thanks
Cliff

Is 'meat & 2 veg' appropriate rhyming slang for the TR7?

If you take a look at S&S website special offers page they are seling an original set of Grinnall tailights (well, presumably used SD1 tailights) with the rear light panel conversion panels.

Still, as you already have the light units I guess that is not so much use to you, but maybe S&S would describe the conversion panles for you to get an idea of what is involved.

If I had the history turned on, that would be a great way to see where I had been.

Hi Jclay,

It was probably this one:

Mines slightly different from Billy's as they didn't extend the eyebrows quite as much:

Nope, not it! The body was cut out all the way around the corner to mak room for the wrap around tail light.

@jclay, the wrap around rear lights that appeared on some Grinnalls were BMW 3 series I believe. I have seen one or two but appear not to have taken any photos!

Can you provided a closer pictures of the eyebrows with the bootlid up. I like short eyebrows verse the long ones on Scottish Grinnall car. I see how the sd1 light panel is blended into the tr7 taillight assy
quote:
