Hi Guys
I bought ,foolishly,
a SMITH Dual - Water Temp & Oil LB/O"
It did not come with Instructions nor pictures nor anything.Niente de piu.
Do any of you know how to install this thing,
Now that I have the car apart it would be easy to work it.

zekow, regarding installation your Smiths Dual gage, the armoured cable is the temp cable that gets fed thru the firewall and installed where the electrical temp sender is located. The oil pressure gage, the plactic line w/attaching compression fittings will also be fed thru the firewall and be fitted onto the oil transfer housing. Remove the electric switch and replace the switch with a male-female-female pipe Tee, reinstall the eletric switch on one end of the Tee, install compression fitting to the other end of the Tee, you may require an adapter to connect the compression fitting to the Tee. Top off coolant start and check for leaks. The 3 wires coming off the oil pressure switch, white/purple wire goes to the anti-run-on valve. Black is ground/earth, white/brown goes to the idiot lite. Hope this helps!!

Question?[?]: on the Armored unit to be placed on the location where the Electric temp sender is located.
could there be a way to keep them both connected ,Like a Y Connector adapter????.

I WANT TO HAVE MY CAKE AND EATED TO.

ZEKE, yes, you could use a Y connector, but it will work best if the sensor is in the water jacket, otherwise you are sensing temps outside the block/waterjacket and not in the waterflow path.. Hope this helps!!

When you take the old temperature sensor out - make sure there is enough space to install the bulb of the new gauge without damaging it. Also - take very great care of that sensor pipe (it's ether filled) - it must not be twisted or kinked - and must be well protected where it goes through the engine bulkhead.
