Got one

Yesterday I set off at 8am to travel from Cumbria to Yorkshire to view another type of classic car, after a 21/2 hour drive I knew within 5 minutes that I wouldn't be buying it.

When I came home I went onto one of the TR sites and couldn't beleive that a car in the spec that I wanted had come up for sale only 5 minutes from home. Made the call to the seller, who I had spoken to at a show about 8 years earlier, went to view today and did the deal, will hopefully pick the car up tomorrow evening.

It has been owned by the seller since it was 3 years old, finished in Java green with green check trim, no sunroof and unfortunately only a 4 speed. Lots of history with the car and small areas that can be improved on to make it my own so to speak. The owner is quite upset at having to sell after so long but I have assured him its going to a good home and he is welcome to pop along and view it anytime.

That looks fantastic! What a find.

Original & umolested by the looks of it - so rare to find one like that. We all like to make our cars our own, but if that is as original as it looks in the photos then don't do anything too drastic to it!

I'd second that - it looks like a time capsule! Great looking car.

Just goes to show it pays to look around a bit and not take the first one you see. Enjoy. If it is original it would pay to keep it that way. Lots of modifieds out there. Not many time capsules.

The car is ACG13855 , car is fully road legal as it stands so I will be using it for a short while then garage it over Winter. With respect to work it needs a new carpet as the original is well faded, couple of bits of paintwork and a nice clean and polish, it will not be modified in anyway.

Will post some more pics when I get it home.

cheers, Paul

That looks a lovely car, good luck with it. I will check out the chassis number of my car, perhaps they were not built too far from each other on the production line?
