Some colours just don't suit certain cars not that your a girl but take pink for example it just does not suit the tr7 maybe a micra but not our beloved car.

Browns, oranges Green date the car very quickly, it's a modern looking car still and the right colour can almost make the car dateless.

On a personal preference "Burgundy" matallic Triumph did use this colours and when it's in sparkling form it looks the bizz can't say i've seen any survivors in this colour.

Some of the modern BMW mettallic Blue's and Black can also look good. but it is personal choice.

Again IMHO darker or solid colours rather than washed out paler colours look better.

[:D]hey now that i'm sure will start a debate so i'll duck and run now [8D]

definetly not PINK!

Metallic Purple!!!

Yeeeaaahh you know it makes sense. My 2 litre is a Nissan colour called Purple Pearl. Lots of blue in it so not garish but very different.

If its a fixed head, Pageant blue or Inca yellow. If its a drop head it needs to be a nice mettallic, a standard colour Persian Aqua or Ford Cosmos Blue.

I wasn't too fond of red, either, until I saw an MGB painted in a Mitsubishi color, "Lava Red". Had to paint my TR8, originally Poseidon Green, and here's how it came out. Looks very nice with the gold plaid.

Actually a pearl metallic that really "pops" in the sunlight.

Chris does have a point there, is it a fixed head or drophead cus that can make a difference as the astral ice Blue colour looks great on a fixed head. but IMHO looks a bit washed out or dated on a convertable

(treading on dangerous ground now someone is surely gonna bite in a minute [:D])

i know i can't talk i mean is Black technically a colour

One thing sure to lift any car and make it unique too, is a nice set of alloys, maybe something different rather than the usual mgf type although there is no doubt the mgf wheels do look great.

If it is a FHC what about Topaz Orange [8D]

For a DHC indeed a metallic will probably be the best choice.
The more I look at my (shabby) DHC the more I like Bordeaux red ...
