Removing the grills on a FHC

<font face="Tahoma"><b>I have a FHC and I need to remove the black plastic grills from the sides behind the doors to do a little rust treating.

I am right in thinking all I need to do is get a little screwdriver under the black plastic clips and ease them out gently?</b></font id="Tahoma">

No. You have to remove the trim inside the car. You then discover
that those funny little things are bolts, & nuts. They undo easily,
but are old plastic, & inclined to be brittle, so go easy on them.

And usualy the little nuts are very rusty, at least in our rather moist Dutch climate. So they are very tight as a result of which the plastic bolts snap very easily.
A good soaking with penetrating oil may save a few of the plastic bolts. Take your time ...

So to get to it from the inside do I just pop of the L shape cover?</b>

Yes, remove the L-shaped cover.
