Lucas electrics [:p]

Had the Sprint in for its MOT yesterday.
Checked the car over the day before and the beam flash didn't work. As it's not an MOT failure I checked only the obvious things but couldn't find anything wrong.
At the MOT station they just worked fine ...

Must be something to do with high volts when alt is working! I suppose you could make up a voltage dropper circuit - and feed the clock with say 10 volts.

Heres the deal. The clock feed and the alternator all connect at the same place. It uis the biggest problem with corrosion on the car as it is right next to the battery.

The black connector on the red battery cable is the source of many problems. First disconnect the positive battery lead. Undo the connectors at the black connector and check for corrosion. Clean all of the connections. If there is a lot of corrosion in the connector, mix some water and backing soda together and use a small brush to apply the solution to the connector. DO NOT LET IT GET ANYWHERE NEAR THE BATTERY!!

You may have to do this several times to clean it well, then rince with clean water and dry. Once you have all the wires cleaned up, reconnect the wires and then the battery cable.

Have fun, drive fast & safe, be kewl,
