My Spider rocker cover was/is silver although it is a Californian car. Did Federal cars get the blue cover? I know Spitfires had orange or blue rocker covers depending on whether they were Federal or Californian.

The paint on the air hose clamps was/is the exact same colour as the oil filter cover which matched exactly to a blue caliper paint I used to repaint, a robin's egg blue. The blue valve covers I've seen in pictures seem to be a translucent colour. Is this true? I don't think it's the same colour as clamps/oil filter cover.

This photo shows Robin Egg Blue, but I doubt that it is original as the cap is painted too.

This one went to the other extreme.

It may sound obvious, but if your having the rocker cover bead blasted before it's painted make sure you remove or tape over the flame trap at the back. If this gets full of blasting material it will get flushed through your engine and destroy it! I know of two such cases & both engines were wrecked.
