This months issue has an article on 6's vs 7's. Seems to conclude that the 7 is better and much cheaper [:)] but he would still prefer to see a 6 in his garage at the end of the day[:(].

Obviously just a crowd follower. If he feels the 7 is a better car then why not have one in your garage. Seems a tad hypocritical to me.

I read the article today. As you say, strange having concluded the 7 is a better car, yet still wanting the six!

The engine performance in the 7 was deemed perfectly adequate in comparison too. I got the perception that the final decision was prejudiced and that some TR7 stigma existed in the reviewers mind.

This stigma was strong years ago when the TR7 was fresh in peoples minds. I even had difficulty finding a mechanic that would touch one with a barge pole in the very early eighties.

Perhaps this stigma faded as the 7 became appreciated when people realised that it had proved to be the shape of things to come, even down to its plastic dash, because almost every production automobile on earth ended up displaying in some form the same rakish, sloping profile. Almost all still do today!

Oh Yes!

I had Cox & Buckles replace my water pump back in the mid-eighties. The workshop didn't stop moaning about how 7's were inferior to 6's and harder to work on when I collected it.

Strangely enough I got much the same reaction from the local TR Register Group around the same time.

20 years on and who isn't selling the most 7 parts and which club majors on 7's? Maybe not the above

Cheers,

Adam
