Surfing the web IS better than television.

Came across this pic:

He is the host of Tonight show on NBC (one of the main US TV networks) and a total car fanatic! [:D]

Imagine a total car nut and then, give him an ulimited budget... And you get Jay's garage [;)]

Owen,

I think that cars in the "Your Garage" section belong to the visitors of his site.

Jat Leno is a comedian who took over the Tonight Show fron Johnny Carson. His main rival is David Letterman (Late Show with David Letterman). These are late night show hosts that feature actors, polititians, writers etc. pushing their latest projects preceded by hosts comedic monologues of current events ending with some up and coming musical act/group. David Letterman with Bobby Rahal has a Indy Car race team. Jay Leno owns almost every interesting car ever made (if not own then will own.) He is featured on many car shows where he shows/drives anything in his huge wharehouse from steam powered old cars to Maclaren Mercedes F1 road car. He has at least two full time mechanics over seeing his restorations. Last year he sent his private jet up to Vancouver to fly top guy from ICBC collector plate division down to Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance to judge the cars there. Also collects motorcycles. He likes to get his hands dirty and gets in there to work on the the cars.

Our car club has had a couple of Powerpoint presentations on Jay Leno's collection given by the ICBC guy (Nigel Matthews) Both Nigel and Jay are fascinating and very well-connected guys who have endless stories about the automotive elite and are great storytellers. Nigel casually describes ride-alongs with Stirling Moss and Bugatti Veyron test drives. Leno has a collection any car guy would die for, and it is most worthwhile to do a search on him on the web to check out his cars.

Cheers,
Rich

This is correct. Jay does not own that TR7. (I can call him 'Jay'; I have met him twice [;)] )

Or this pre-production TR8 listed on the site - http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/your_gara ... 1973.shtml

BTW, UK folks may also know Jay Leno from his occasional Motormouth column in the Times (of London).

Doesn't he also write for Top Gear magazine sometimes?

Years ago I took the NBC tour of the studio where they do his show. We didn't see him, but we got to see the car brought to work that day. It was a 63 Chrysler Imperial. I thought it was very cool since my dad has a 64 Imperial (convertible).

They said he brings a great car to work every day.

The thing I like best about Jay Leno is that he describes himself as, "Just a regular guy who got lucky".
