Hi,
Would like to congratulate all those involed in Edition 3 of the TRDC mag, excellent cover to cover [:D]
Great article by Mr Rob Turner on the coca cola car including copies of the winning letters sent out to the different prize winners and who would of thought it was poss to spell 315 words out of the phrase-
'ALL SUMMER LONG'
without the use of plurals, proper nouns and be at least 4 letters long. Plus no computers in 1978 [;)]
Cheers John.

John, it was as many words as possible from "All SUMMER" without the word long. This makes an even harder task. Val thought Robert had missed out the word long and added it herself because that was the name of the competition.
Stevie, if you havent received your mag by Tuesday let me know and Il send you another.

Hi Chris,
That as you say makes it a lot harder, i think even those clever people on the channel 4 show 'Count Down' would struggle with that one!!
Do you have any info on 'Star Vans' ? If anyone has an address would love to drive to it and see what remains (i live in Luton) probaly a DIY store or houses now [V]
Cheers John.

There were computers in 1978. One of the winners used the mainframe system at his work (Castbaird in Newbury - part of the Selection Trust/BP group) to generate his entry. The cheatin' b@stard!

If you were good enough to program a mainframe of 1978, (probably earlier) to come up with enough of the the answers in comprehensible english, you fully deserve to win in my view!

The winner used dictionaries for quite a few languages and spent a few weeks compiling the 315 words, hes a very clever chap who has been very helpful, sending us quite a lot of documents from Coca Cola.
