Wow it never ceases to amaze me of just how many of these cars are not only still around but the modifications that have taken place surely the TR7 must be one of the most modifiable cars around.

but not only that a car that people can see potential in and a much loved car despite what some of the press would have you believe.

Thats really nice, might think about that as clearance and underbonnet temp still not ideal.. shame about the back and steering wheel! Still, to each his own.

That and the two sets of scoops is a bit much. Should be one or the other not both. Steering wheel is a bit much too but matches the excessive wing.

I don't mind the scoops - I guess the front ones are to feed the radiator & the bonnet scoops to feed the air filter. At least they serve a purpose and they're not over the top in size or style - unlike that rear wing!

I actually like the steering wheel - just not in a TR7; doesn't really match the interior style. On the other hand, as somebody said, each to their own!

I quite like the thing, & it would not be too big a deal to remove
the spoiler. The thing is in Darwin, where the temperature rarely
drops below 24oC, [75+ degrees F, even at night] so would have had
to have good cooling. The scoops probably work.

Darwin has a very wet "WET" season, so the chance of rust is greater
than Oz in general.

At 4.4 stroked to 5L, that would be the local BMC P76 engine, which
is 1 inch higher in the block, hence the second scoop I would think.
I don't know if these have any disadvantages against other Rover V8s.

The worst thing, & probably why it hasn't sold, is the distance.
Darwin is about 2200 Km from anywhwre, [other than Singapore], & a
little over 3500 Km from here. It would be quite expensive to fly up
there, just to look at it. It would take a lot of faith, in someone
else's engineering, to drive it home, with the first real township
1475 Km from Darwin.

You could send it by train to Adelaide, but for me, I'd be no closer
to home, just in more settled areas. I did think about a nice 7 from
Darwin, once, but these things put me off.

Fuel is a bit pricey, out there in the "never never". If the thing
has good "cruising" economy, you would have between A$900, & $1000,
just in petrol costs, to get it here.

I think I'll give it a miss.

If you look at the prices of the other 7s, listed with this one, you
can see why we think about importing them from the UK, or the US.

That master cylinder is a PBR 15/16" unit from a V8 VS Holden Commodore.

How do I know? I have one in my Tr7V8 too...

I like both the cars, as Hasbeen said it would not take much to remove its back end hump.
I agree with you Phil I would buy the scoops and convert my v8 if they are available.[;)]

Answer: "Hi there.
In answer to your query re the spoilers <b><font color="red">(Scoops?)</font id="red"></b> on the TR7/8.
I had them hand made by one of our local
Panel beaters. They where one offs made to my
specification and at the time cost around $2,000.
( no expense spared at that time) The panel beater
"Pecky's Panels" has long since gone out of business.
I am currently renovating a TR7/8 Rag top and wanted
to replicate them. The nearest quotation was over
$3,000 so I didn't bother. The black <b><font color="red">(back?) </font id="red"></b>item
is an off the shelf fibreglass item from Triumph Rover
spares in Adelaide. Hope this helps.
