Wheel spacers good or not?

Just fitting the Vitesse brake kit (from Rimmers) to the wedge and the caliper rubs on the wheel hub. I do have the 14" Minilite replica wheels (from Rimmers) that they recomend!
I beleive the wheel locates on the hub rather than the studs so spacers or not?

Hello, Billy -
I have the same setup you have, with 14" Panasports. The extra clearance needed was very slight, but once the lugnuts were tight, the wheels would not turn. I tried several washers to determine how thick the spacer needed to be, and though I don't recall at the moment the dimension, found a set of aluminum universal spacers at Pep Boys over here. Have had them on for a good while, and so far no problems.

Are you guys saying the caliper rubs the inside of the wheel or the hub the wheel attaches to? Seems to be no end to the problems with this kit. BTW 14X6 Panasports here too.
Edit, Just went back to this thread & reread John215 post.

Now I understand the problem. He used 1/8" spacers to clear up the interferance.

Hi,
Sorry difficult to explain Underdog [:I] glad you understand now [:)]
Billy, these are the spacers i used and fit perfect, wanted to keep thickness to minimum so not to load wheel bearings ect, these guys at Merlins are top blokes and very quick.

I used the ones part number 'WS 3MM' (3mm or 1/8" thick)
Cheers John.

Thanks for the help chaps. I see I'm not the only one with the problem. Contacted Rimmer by email, only bought the brake kit a month ago, not had a responce yet!
Ordered the 3mm spacers from Merlin, thanks again, but always thought the wheel locates on the hub flange and thought the spacer would affect wheel location.
So anoying to get sooooo far and then s[:(!]t happens!!
