Hi birminghamtr7,

I had the exact same question over Christmas. The rimmers kit is absolutely useless and me and several others could find no way of it fitting effectively. Rimmers know this too and if you order as part of a kit of springs, very often they dont charge you for it - make sure they dont as you wont be using them. I have found that by using the poly spring seats that a a little thicker, the springs have plenty of tension to remain in place over bumps and bridges.

I have repairable shocks on the 8, so we just took them apart, &
added an extra bump stop rubber, reducing the extension of the shock
by a little over an inch. Works perfectly.

As I am not about to spend that much money on shocks for the 7, I
will be most interrested in another solution.

I've seen people weld a nut to the spring pan on the trailing arm and bolt a retaining bar - Maybe a lot tidier to use a rivnut and line the side of the retaining bar in contact with the spring in rubber.
