Does anyone have an exploded view of the electrical end of the ignition switch? Or an old switch laying around that you just don't need?

You mean the white circular piece with the wire connectors correct? I had the back end of the switch fall apart on me so I do have it. I'm in London right now won't be back till the 12th I could send it out after that.

All I had where pieces laying on the carpet of the 7. I laid it all out and started trying to put it back together. I also cleaned up everything in the process. I realized that I was trying to over-engineer the whole process of reassembly (the stupid coiled sprint to rebound when you hit the starter).

After about 5 hours, (I had to make a little plunger for one of the indents) I got it back together. Then the white plastic thing was trying to come back out. For years, every time some little piece of electric something quit, I would go through it and remove all of those tiny screws. I found 3 little 1/16" dia screws and drilled a little hole in the metal tabs and put in the screws. (Thanks Janet for the great drill bits!!)

Now all if have to do is slot the non-removable screws (easy-out) so I can put them back in tomorrow..

<i><font color="green"><b>Well, I spent another 5 hours working on the switch yesterday and got it working. BTW, if you put the little screws that hold the switch to the lock in too tight, it will bind on the rotating part of the switch, guess how long it took me to figure that one out! I did have to leave out one part of the switch, the little bar that turns the brake and the oil lights out when you start the car. Tiny little tabs broke off that keep it centered.</b></font id="green"></i>
