TR7 ORIGINAL CLOTH SEATS ANY FOR SALE ANYONE??

Postby tr7inc » 29 Dec 2007 15:04

Hi all just wondered a couple of things first as my car is in inca yellow, i have blue/check but me thinks black would suit the car much better, would a black vinyl spray work on the door cards? has anyone tryed it before? also does anyone on our forum or know anyone who is selling the original type cloth seats?

As always many thanks all

Hi tr7inc I know my car is red, but I done the intrior in plain blue with a blue roof made without the triangle side windows, just sets it off a bit different. Yellow with the blue would be nice, so would the yellow with the green. decisions, decisions, I had the same problem.

Sprayed my sun visors in blue vinyl paint, and they turned out all glossy and a darker colour to the rest. Don't know if you can get a matt finnish, I couldn't find any.

Hi Trv8, i have a spray paint that i bought from my local auto store and its called bumper and vinyl spray and it comes in satin black and a couple of other colours, my bumpers were in good nic but someone before me had hand painted them ( silly boy) and they looked awful, i took them off and wet n dryed them and just used this spray on them ( no primer required) and they came up a treat, now it says its for vinyl too, but i havent tryed it on any, but its worth a go i reckon

VicBrit sells the cloth and leather seat covers, though they are a bit pricey.
I changed my interior over from tartan blue to black last summer, it looks way better!!![:p] I think I have a photo in my "album" of the interior.
Luckily, I had a black interior out of an older TR7, but there were some pieces I had to spray paint. I used a plastic/vinyl paint I found at local store and everything came out looking really good.

John - your query about the TR7 drag car - yes it is owned by Diane & Alec Pringle. By chance they live just up the road from me. Saw the car at TR Register National in 2006, Alec did start it up - one hell of a noise! I have not seen it run in anger though - that would quite a sight I should think[:)]

Steve - as far as I know there are no other seats that fit directly into the 7, from Triumph or any other manufacturer. Colour? Well if you want that 70s period look it's got to be green check, on the other hand black would look stylish & modern. Have you got black dashboard, radio console, etc?
