Towing a TR7

Postby Graeme » 16 Oct 2007 09:56

Hi me again

I know about the thing where you can't tow a 7 because of the oil pump on the gearbox (or something like that) but can you tow it with the front wheels on the road? Is this advisable?

Thanks in advance.

I had mine towed by RAC (a thing I've become use to)
they raised the rear and towed it with the front wheels ,after securing the steering wheel
Hope this helps

Thanks Dave. Thought it was possible but just thought I'd check, you never know with these cars!

Except it's difficult to get a good fix on the car without wrecking the front bumper and scoop!

The car got picked up on thursday and was just towed back to front, it seemed to make it to the garage alright.

The bizare thing was the tow truck driver walked over to the car and said he had just bought a v8 convertible from ebay in exactly the same colour. Its a small world!
