End of the forum

Well i must admit i thought it was the end of the forum that time...

This forum has been going for so many years and has so much info for it just to stop suddenly as it did.

Having one person run the forum is not good at all, that was about 3 to 4 week it was down, say something happened to that person it would be lost forever.

It might not have the footfall of posts now but i know people do dip in and out if only to find some information.

Hi Stevie, like you I thought the forum had gone forever and I agree it's a lot for one person to cope with, I have very limited I T knowledge but I am willing to help in any way that I can and if we all pulled together on this maybe it would relieve the strain a bit.
Cheers
Moe

I thought it had finished or that it was my computer as it disappeared entirely. Then the 'General' came back so there was hope. Thanks to Christopher for reviving the forum.

Hi, apologies if this seems like a rant, but if more people used this valuable and useful resource for TR related stuff instead of posting on f***ing Facebook then there might be more incentive to keep it going.
Rich.

I agree, Arsebook is a total waste of pixels, anything worthwhile posted there is soon buried under tons of pointless mindless posts about what some imbecile had for lunch!

Yeah I too was wondering if the forum had fallen over, perhaps many other members think it has.
May I suggest a general PM alert sent to all members, informing them that it's back. That is of course if it's possible to do a bulk PM. I understand that doing them individually would be too big a job.

The other thing that has occurred to me is, that the forum probably need more moderators, in different time zones, so that spammers can be dealt with sooner.
This should greatly assist lightening the workload on admin.
I have moderator experience, I've been a moderator on the "the-t-bar.com forum (MGF/TF forum) for some years and would be happy to help out.

indeed, a pity for this forum, which, like "Triumph experience", is a little bible on the problems and solutions encountered by TR7 / 8 around the world.
on the other hand on Facebook pages, between: "who has the biggest?", and: "I took mussels twice for lunch", it is rare to find pros of this legendary car.
so long live the forum.

Sometimes I wonder if the computer server, upon which this forum resides, was made by Lucas

I was having withdrawal symptoms too, wondering if it was my computor or the sight. It would be a real loss to lose such a site.

Dr Christopher Kenneth Smith (he of the 'reasonable collection' of TR7's) funds the forum but I think he does not get time to keep a close eye on it as he always seems to driving between UK and Italy transferring cars (plus playing rugby ref in between). He has said that when he is informed of a problem, he sorts it, but does not know until he is told.
