TR7 Brake Shoe Adjuster Kits

I currently have my rear brakes apart due to a brake fluid leak. SO while off, I thought it was a good time to clean things up and replace anything that needs replacing. I had 2 springs, 4 pins, 4 washers and 4 e-type Circlip (along with the 4 metal adjustment bits).

However, when I look t the new kits there are 6 washers (2 big & 4 small) and 5 e-type Circlip. Are the extras or do the washers to go between the spring and the metal adjuster or are they for packing out at the top of the pin?

Also has anyone changed the original Clevis pin that takes the Circlip, to a new pin with a hole in the top to take a clip at the end. To make it easier to change in the future and save the pain of trying to get the Circlip on..

Does anyone know where the springs for the kits can be purchased on their own?

Robsport are always advertising them on Ebay and I bet Steve Wilcox at S&S has them as well.

for example Robsport, see Ebay item 232356334620 full set of 6 springs

Cheers Russ but I did mean just the adjuster springs on their own. May not of put that clearly in my post.

Ah, those don't appear as a separate item in the parts list, only as part of the AAU8994 adjuster kit.

You need to speak to Robsports or S&S, but I bet most of us on here have some lying around in the garage somewhere if you get stuck.

Today I put the kit on the break shoes.

Some pictures show the bigger part of the kit with the pin part towards the shoe and some showed it with the pin part away from the shoe. In the end I decided to put it back on how it came off.

I saved a copy of Clay Thompson's idiots guide on my Drive which might be useful here:-

That is great thanks Russ.

I was wondering if I had the adjuster on correct, but from the pica it looks like I need to put it in the starting position.

Wish I could take the back plate ff to clean and paint it, but I have the same setup as Clay and it looks like I cannot remove the hub.
