Just wondering if anybody knows YRW 573S, taxed till Sept and listed as 3.5L?
I'm asking because Canleys list it as one of the O series fleet, but it's a sore thumb being S reg.

Hi Graham, It must have retained by BL for a very long time, but it makes sense as its sister car YRW606S, a TR8, was retained by BL and used as a test bed for the EFI system. This is a well known car, fully authenticated so perhaps these are part of a series. Some more investigation is required.

Yes gents, they were a series of YRW registrations ... I own YRW 585S which was one of the Speke convertible development cars (ACT series) - seen here being collected from where it was found in Germany.

Just interested, because it's S reg., and Canley's article says these cars were apparantly returned from O-series spec to TR7/8 spec when the programme was cancelled. And that's what Bill Piggott wrote he expected would have happened to the TR7 Sprints if that was a cancelled development/production programme.

I Agree. All TR7/8s should have black sills. That's for esthetics though, not originality.

I was being facetious really Graham because I know some people prefer to have the sills the same colour as the car. But black sills do make the car look lower and sleeker and that was why Harris specified that on the original style and all subsequent styling bucks. And before anyone points it out, I do know that I have the sills on my car the same colour as the body!
