Questions - TR7 Radio Installation

As I like to do, I like to do research before I tackle small projects on my 1980 DHC.
Next up, replacing the old radio with a more modern unit. I bought a cheap DIN unit off E bay. Looks like it'l fit, no problem. How do I tackle removing the new and reinstalling? I'm comfortable with the wiring part, its the removal and reinstallation, I'm not sure how to tackle. Any tips, gotchas appreciated.
After that will be the replacement of the directional combination switch. Seems like a cinch. Same question.
